Ffdshow doesn work
Unfortunately, I have no experience with your player, so I'm not sure how you'd fix it. If that doesn't work, then your version is just old enough that it doesn't support Aero. VRM9 worked wonders. If you have to ask, it's not for you. Richard Berg wrote: ffdshow is for die-hard bleeding-edge tweakers. Everyone has to learn somehow! Quote: Everyone has to learn somehow!

The only format I think you actually need extra stuff for is mkv. Ok, let's try that again If I uninstall ffdshow, I'm pretty sure most of my mkv and mp4 videos will stop working under 7MC. Well, there's a possibility that I could be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure a large number of these die-hard tweakers started out as newbs asking, "Wtf do I do now?
Jumping in headfirst and then asking questions is just one more way of learning things, so saying things like, "if you have to ask Quote: I'm pretty sure a large number of these die-hard tweakers started out as newbs asking, "Wtf do I do now? However, several people in this thread have said they'd rather have something that "just works".

That's all fine and good, but my computer is mine to break however I see fit, action consequences are for me to evaluate based on my own criteria, and knowledge acquisition methods are mine to decide. I appreciate your concern, but it's unwarranted in this case. Richard Berg wrote: That's cool if learning about Windows video architecture is a hobby of yours.
Ah, okay, I see what you mean now. Win7 x64 Ent fresh install, 7MC will not play mp4 container files with mp3 or ac3 audio where the video is compressed with x H. I did have to convert containers from mkv to mp4, but I doubt anything was wrong with that conversion that "magically" prevented it from playing in 7MC.
I'm really not sure where all this commentary about tweaking comes from. If I don't do anything, it installs with practically 0 questions except having to click next a bunch of times.

I have disabled none of these things with the exception of bit Media Foundation. I have no "tweakers" installed. I only make those changes after I hit files that don't work. Any ideas as to how i can get this to work?
It's quite annoying that FFDShow appears to do nothing at all! Bl4ckGryph0n Distinguished Member. Graphedit to check the graph that is trying to be used Also you have to check out what exactly the file is and whether ffdshow is enabled You probably want the haali splitter, coreavc etc Do some searches as this is a very common topic You must log in or register to reply here.
Similar threads. Can't access Shared HP Deskjet Sorry, I got no experience with SVP. My haswell i3 can decode p60 h easily but for h it is a different story since CPU usage is significantly higher. I have a fairly new GTX card which supports h, but it still doesn't support hi10p for both h and You can have your LAV decoding and ffdshow's filters too.
I'm running XP but the flavour of Windows shouldn't matter. If you enable ffdshow's RAW video decoder at the bottom of it's codecs list , you can still leave MPC-HC set to use LAV for decoding internal filters , but ffdhow will processes the decoded video, which means you can use it's filters. The same principle applies to audio. MPC-BE does but when ffdshow is processing the decoded video it seems to prevent it using hardware decoding.
The GPU icon doesn't appear in the status bar. The player has to be configured to use ffdshow Video Decoder as video stream decoder or the ffdshow Raw Video Filter should be enabled. I think I vaguely remember reading something about a stripped down version of ffdshow somewhere.
Just the filters, no decoders. I will reboot and report back later. Last edited by KneeRow; 9th Aug at It will have no effect on the DirectShow portion -- which media players will use.
